If you'd like to keep up the turning spirit, why not welcome the new year with a simple gift that you made yourself. We’ll use the lathe to create one or two small things like a handle for a tool, or a pizza cutter, or a bottle stopper! No experience necessary, though completion of Turning for Daily Life is required. Materials included.
Sunday, December 8, 2019. 1-4 p.m. - $50

From all-hand-tool timberframing in rural Poland, to machining sheets of sparkly pink plexiglass for a set of fashion show stages, I am always keen to learn and try something new. I've built scribed log playgrounds, museum casework and exhibits, furniture, and renovated houses. I collect skills and techniques to inform my sense of how to build a world I'd like to live in. Creating objects is as much a process of making as using; something leaving the workshop enters my life in a new way, living and changing with me over time. This sense of empowerment and responsibility to our own environment is something I hope to spread in every place that I can teach. My portfolio can be seen at www.heartsparkarts.com and I am on Instagram as @runeshai.
