Supported Shop Time

March 14, 2019 9:19 PM | Tom Bodett (Administrator)

There are 16 hours of scheduled Supported Shop time each week.    This looks basically like what you've been experiencing in the shop if you've been coming in since we opened last month.

Supported Shop is the time members who have taken the safety training course can come in and work on projects.  Members can work independently and Shop Proctors and skilled staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and provide assistance with material and tool selection, machine operation, and technique as time allows.   The difference from what you've seen is that the staff will not be engaged in other projects during these blocks.  They are there for you.

There is no fee for Supported Shop.  If you would like to use the panel saw, 43" sander, 20" planer, panel saw, or track saw, be sure to reserver your time on these tools in advance on our Schedule Tools link under the Members Only drop down menu.  (You will only see this link if you are a member and are logged in)

As our numbers grow we will be asking members to schedule their time in Supported Shop in advance so that we can all see how many woodworkers will be there at any given time.  That will allow members to find the best time for themselves, and allow us to make sure we have enough help on site during the busiest times.
