HatchSpace Wraps Up Afterschool Woodworking Program with Brattleboro Area Middle School (BAMS)
This past June, HatchSpace concluded its first cohort of a new course in collaboration with the Brattleboro Area Middle School (BAMS) afterschool program.
For seven weeks this past April through June, a group of middle school students attended weekly workshops at HatchSpace learning the fundamentals of woodworking in a safe, supportive, inspiring, and creative environment.
Over the weeks, students engaged with age-appropriate woodworking projects designed by HatchSpace instructors, gaining firsthand experience with both hand tools and stationary power tools. Each session included structured opening and closing activities to ground students in shop safety, skill development and reflection on their learning process.
HatchSpace is proud to have partnered with BAMS to bring this opportunity to local youth, planting the seeds of curiosity, creativity, and self-reliance that will benefit them for years to come. At HatchSpace, we empower almost anyone to build the things that you love.
