HatchSpace Receives Grant from NBRC for feasibility study.

December 8, 2025 - HatchSpace was named as one of 59 recipients that will receive funding from the Norther Border Regional Commission (NBRC). A total of $37.2 million was awarded to drive rural economic development throughout the Commission’s member states of Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire and New York.

HatchSpace has been awarded a matching grant from the Catalyst Fund to conduct a feasibility study for acquiring and improving its current facility in downtown Brattleboro, Vermont. The study will assess building conditions, financial models, and acquisition strategies to support HatchSpace’s mission of advancing craft and technical education. The project aims to strengthen Vermont’s creative, construction, and education sectors through infrastructure planning and community engagement. HatchSpace’s project is the only funded project based solely in Windham County for the 2025 cycle.

HatchSpace plans to issue a request for proposals shortly after the New Year for consultant firms to lead the work.

We are thrilled to receive the commission’s support. Read the full NBRC press release here.
